'Garden' dinner service

Designed 1938

Drawn to decorate the standard Wedgwood stock shapes, the Garden design comprises a border, ten vignettes and smaller details from them.

Pattern number TL 259, printed sepia centre and border, enamelled in yellow.

On receipt of the drawings, Tom Wedgwood wrote in acknowledgment, 'I am delighted with them, particularly the Garden pattern; you must have put in a tremendous lot of work on these patterns since you were down here, and I do think you are to be congratulated on the result.
